| Southern California Edison - Edison International
During the restructuring of California's electric industry in the late 1990s, Southern California Edison sold most of its generating facilities, retaining only its hydropower, coal and nuclear power generating plants. SCE is doing its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by providing its customers with energy from renewable resources. Currently, nearly 17 percent of our energy mix comes from wind, solar, biomass, small hydropower and geothermal sources. In the past five years, Southern California Edison has invested more than $3 billion, in its transmission and distribution system throughout its 50,000-square-mile service area and expects to invest an additional $11 billion in electricity infrastructure replacement and improvement over the next decade.
